Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Erica Parker is a 5th year Computer Networking and Systems Administration major who transferred to RIT from Genesee Community College back in 2015. This academic year, Erica will be working as the student senator for GCCIS, where she will be working to improve student/college transparency, increased communication between the hearing and deaf/hard of hearing communities, and extended or 24-hour access to GCCIS labs. When she’s not studying or working on campus, Erica is usually at home snuggling with her puppy, Bailey, trying to find the best mac-and-cheese in Rochester, or researching ways to improve wireless capabilities biomedical technology. Fun facts: Erica is only 4 feet and 11 inches tall and can usually be seen walking around campus in bright-colored clothing!
To represent to the interests of the student body through the implementation of innovative programs, services, and initiatives that enrich student lives. We will be the primary source of advocacy for students from Rochester Institute of Technology and we will utilize our shared governance structure to voice student opinion and concern. RIT Student Government will be the forefront of change within the university.
