Sanjay Varma Rudraraju
Major: Computer Science
Sanjay Varma Rudraraju is a graduate student in the department of Computer Science. Prior to coming to the United States, he served in a leadership role at an NGO which helps ensure equitable outcomes for children in shelters across India and also worked at Microsoft in the capacity of a student partner for over two years.
As the graduate senator he wants to improve graduate student life at RIT and also, work to improve the relations of graduate students with RIT alumni network. He hopes to work with the co-op services department to identify and bring more companies that hire graduate students irrespective of their work authorization. He is going to work with different departments to increase graduate centric academic events in order to increase exposure of graduate student research work.
When you can’t find him in the SG office or behind the desk in the library, you might see him enjoying the sunshine with a round of golf or playing badminton. Sanjay hopes that the graduate students reach out to him with any problems at RIT or even drop by SG office to talk or maybe, just invite him to a cool party.
To represent to the interests of the student body through the implementation of innovative programs, services, and initiatives that enrich student lives. We will be the primary source of advocacy for students from Rochester Institute of Technology and we will utilize our shared governance structure to voice student opinion and concern. RIT Student Government will be the forefront of change within the university.
