Farid Barquet

President

Year: 4th
Major: Biotechnology and Molecular Bioscience/Biomedical Sciences

My name is Farid Barquet and this year I have the honor of serving as the President of Student Government! I have been actively involved with Student Government for the past 3 years, serving as the CHST Senator, and as Director of Programming. This organization means a lot to me, as I have seen the impact that SG can have across campus. As President, I look forward to a successful year where all student’s needs are being met!

Besides my involvement with Student Government, I have been actively involved in numerous leadership positions on campus. I have been an Orientation Leader, a Lead YearOne Peer Advisor, a Teaching Assistant, and a Student Ambassador for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Additionally, I am a proud brother of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, where I have served as Brotherhood Chair, Recruitment Chair, and Treasurer. In my free time I enjoy theater, playing the piano, binge watching Netflix, and long walks on the beach.

I love meeting students, and my door is always open! So feel free to stop by the SG office and chat with me, or shoot me an email if there’s anything you’d like to discuss with me. Hope you all enjoy your time at RIT!
