Humans of RIT Photo Contest

Student Government is holding a “Humans of RIT” contest, where you can submit a photo of someone from the RIT community accompanied with a story about that person, in true Humans of New York Style. The best submissions will be published on the SG website and social media.

Both the person that submitted the story and the person photographed (if different from the submitter) will attend a luncheon with Brandon Stanton, the founder of Humans of New York! Those who attend will be able to sit down with Brandon and actually have a conversation with him. Keep in mind, there will be more than one winner!

The guidelines for this contest are:

  • The person photographed must be a member of the RIT community.
  • Only feature one RIT “human” per submission.
  • You must provide the name and RIT email of the person photographed.
  • You must provide your name and RIT email.
  • Photo and story must be your original work.

In addition, if you would like to join Brandon in a roundtable discussion, you can submit an essay explaining why you would like to meet him. One person will be selected to attend both the roundtable discussion and luncheon.

Please email submissions to the Director of Programming, Farid Barquet, at by Tuesday, October 4th at 12:00pm (noon). Winners will be announced Friday, October 7th.
