Ashley Kosak

KGCOE Senator

Year: 5th Year
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Hometown: Elma, NY
My role within RIT has stretched to many different groups and interests. I’ve been a member of Student Government for 3 years, as Director of Operations, Director of Finances, and now as KGCOE senator. I was an RA for two years, a tour guide for the engineering college for 4 years, a machinist for 3 years, and an Orientation Assistant for one year. I’ve learned a lot about leadership during my internships with SpaceX working on machining, inspection, integration, and systematic changes to improve the quality of our parts. My personal interests include climbing, hiking, camping, napping, and playing with my puppy.

My goal this year is to influence positive change within the college, as well as give students the opportunity to work directly with Dean Doreen Edwards in making our college better than before.

To represent to the interests of the student body through the implementation of innovative programs, services, and initiatives that enrich student lives. We will be the primary source of advocacy for students from Rochester Institute of Technology and we will utilize our shared governance structure to voice student opinion and concern. RIT Student Government will be the forefront of change within the university.
